Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin today announced 18 businesses have been awarded Small Business Investment Grants totaling $143,116.92.

During the Charleston City Council meeting held this evening, December 19, several measures were passed as part of General Fund Budget Amendment No. 4.

Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin today announced City of Charleston offices will be closed Friday, December 23 for Christmas Eve and Friday, December 30 for New Year’s Eve.

The City of Charleston will host the 2022 Charleston Christmas Parade Thursday, December 15 at 7 p.m. The following street closures and detours will be in place.

Lieutenant Seth Petersen, a 13-year member of the Charleston Fire Department, passed away this evening while at home. Lieutenant Petersen had most recently worked out of Station 1. Lieutenant Petersen was also a Captain and Paramedic with the Teays Valley Fire Department.
