The Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development (MOECD) encourages non-profit agencies, community organizations, educational institutions and civic groups that serve low- to moderate-income individuals to apply for Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for 2025-26. The application is available online and is due by 4 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Due to the forecasted low temperatures and wind chill, the Christmas Parade, scheduled for December 5 has been postponed until December 17. 
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin this evening announced Erica Lord Law Group as the recipient of the 2024 Holly Jolly Brawley Mayor’s Choice Award and West Virginia Eye Consultants as the recipient of the 2024 Holly Jolly Brawley Mayor’s Choice Honorable Mention.
The City of Charleston will host the 2024 Charleston Christmas Parade: Neon Wonderland on December 5 at 7 p.m. in downtown Charleston. In preparation for the annual celebration, the City Team has compiled a robust “Know Before You Go” for attendees, participants, and visitors to Charleston.
