American Rescue Plan Advisory Committee Finalizes Recommendation
Tonight, the American Rescue Plan Advisory Committee met to create their recommended plan for allocation of American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding. The City received $36.8 million in ARP funding which will fund both City projects and organizations that applied through an application process.
“The Committee’s recommendation represents a great mix of projects that can contribute immediately to our City’s economic recovery, revitalize the health and safety of our communities and invest in the future of Charleston,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “Together, we have created a thorough, comprehensive plan and are confident the recommended projects will have a lasting impact in our Capital City.”
Included in the full recommendation are 32 applications that were submitted by organizations throughout Charleston with projects ranging from healthcare, social services, tourism, food access, employment training, housing, the arts and more. City programs, included in the final recommendation to be funded through ARP contributions include infrastructure, youth jobs and athletic field turfing projects.
