MAYOR GOODWIN PROCLAIMS JANUARY 24, 2025 AS MADDOX “MADDOG” POTTER DAY IN CHARLESTON

(Charleston, W. Va.) – Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin proclaimed January 24, 2025 as Maddox “MadDog” Potter Day in Charleston, encouraging all citizens to honor Maddox’s memory, celebrate his legacy, and reflect on the impact of hope in overcoming adversity.   

“Today, we come together as a community to honor the life and legacy of Maddox Potter, a remarkable young man who faced unimaginable challenges with courage, grace and an unwavering spirit. He was not only a beloved resident of our community but also a source of inspiration to everyone who knew him. His love for life and his family, and his ability to bring hope to others – even in the face of adversity – is a reminder of the power of resilience. I am honored to proclaim today Maddox ‘MadDog’ Potter Day, so that we may celebrate his memory and the lasting impression he has left on our hearts,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “My thoughts are with Maddox’s family during this time, and I stand with them in honoring his incredible life and legacy. #MadDogStrong”
