MAYOR GOODWIN THANKS CITY WORKERS AS CITY PREPARES TO WELCOME FOLKS TO THE 2024 CHARLESTON STERNWHEEL REGATTA
(Charleston, W. Va.) – As the City of Charleston prepares to welcome visitors for the 2024 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta which begins Wednesday, July 3, and concludes Sunday, July 7, Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin thanks the City workers who play a key role in coordinating event logistics and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
“Our City Team is integral to the success of the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “As we prepare to welcome visitors from across the state and throughout the region, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our city employees – the folks who are working late to ensure the streets are swept every evening, the folks who are doing trash pickup in the wee morning hours, the members of the police and fire departments who are helping to ensure public safety, the folks who are making sure various aspects of the event run smoothly, and the folks who are troubleshooting issues on the fly. Thank you for your commitment to providing visitors with a warm welcome to Charleston and for helping to make the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta a tremendous success!”
