MAYOR GOODWIN ISSUES STATEMENT ON PASSING OF FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER JACK HARRISON

(Charleston, W. Va.) – Mayor Amy Goodwin shared the following statement on the passing of former Charleston Council Member Jack Harrison.   

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Charleston City Council Member Jack Harrison, who dedicated 16 years to serving our Capital City. Council Member Harrison was a committed public servant who always put people first and he was a forward-thinking leader who championed key investments in what is now the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, helping transform it into a thriving venue for countless events. He was also a passionate advocate for the tennis and pickleball communities, playing a key role in the improvements to the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts, which continue to serve athletes and enthusiasts of all ages. Council Member Harrison’s contributions have left a lasting impact on Charleston, and we honor his memory and legacy of service.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him during his time on Charleston City Council.”
