COMMUNITY MEMBERS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN FINAL CAPITAL CONNECTOR PUBLIC MEETING ON DECEMBER 3
(Charleston, W. Va.) – The City of Charleston in collaboration with GAI Consultants will host the final public meeting on the Capital Connector Project on December 3, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kanawha County Public Library. During the meeting, GAI Consultants will review the Master Plan followed by an opportunity for community members to review and discuss the plan.
In addition to offering public comment during the meeting, interested individuals will have the opportunity to provide public comment online via the Capital Connector Concept: Community Input App.

BACKGROUND: The City of Charleston was awarded a $1.75M FY2021 RAISE planning grant, and a $25M RAISE construction grant for the Capital Connector Project. The City of Charleston engaged GAI Consultants for the design phase which is currently in progress. The City and GAI hosted two public meetings: May 7, 2024 (announced project start and took public comments) and August 15, 2024 (provided community members with first look at draft concept plan).
