TEMPORARY ST/SIDEWALK CLOSURE NOTICE: for July 10-September 10

The drive lane at 1500 Red Oak St, 900 Walnut St and 1600 Clay Ave will be temporarily narrowed/closed for utility work. Flaggers will be used. 

MILLING/PAVING NOTICE: for September 9

WV Paving will be milling and paving the following streets.
Operations will begin at 6:30 AM and will continue to 6:30 PM.

Paving/Milling

• West Ave / From Garden to Beech
• Buena Vista Place / From Orchard to End
• Forest Dr / From Grandview to Hawthorne
• Stockton St / From 7th Ave to RR Tracks
• Madison St / 1400 Block
   

Motorists should use caution when traveling in this area.  Minor delays may be experienced.  Please follow directions of flag persons in newly paved areas.  Take caution not to drive onto newly paved streets.  Hot asphalt may damage vehicles.  Parked vehicles must be removed from the street by 6:30 a.m.  Please do not park on newly paved streets as car wheels may leave depressions in the asphalt which will hold water.  Residents will receive a paving notice telling them that paving will occur within the next 24 hours barring inclement weather.  It is not possible to predict exactly what time a work crew will be on a particular street.  Any questions concerning this work can be directed to the City Engineer’s Office at 348-8106

• Rolling closures in place along race route 

Race Route: 

• Smith St > Morris St > Hansford St > Piedmont Rd > Turn Around at California Ave and return via Piedmont Rd > Hansford St > Morris St > Smith St

Race Starts at 5 PM

Race Route: City Center at Slack Plaza > Brawley Walkway > Capitol St > Kanawha Blvd > Greenbrier Street > Turnaround and return via the same route. 

Closure Locations: 

• 2 PM - 10 PM
  • Summers St, Parking Garage Exit to Lee St (see note under Parking Information)
• 4 PM - 9 PM
  • Kanawha Blvd, Court St to Greenbrier St
  • Capitol St, Kanawha Blvd to Lee St
    • Virginia St and Quarrier St will be open to traffic

Parking Information :  

• Summers St Parking Garage will be accessible from Quarrier St
