Walk For Freedom
Walk for Freedom is a fundraising and global awareness campaign started by the organization A21. A21 is an organization that rescues those in slavery and provides their rescue care. Join Charleston Parks and Recreation and the many others across the world that will be walking to end Human Trafficking on October 14th. You may register for free, as a team or individual a21.org/charleston or onsite the day of.
Walk for Freedom Charleston will start at Haddad Riverfront Park. On-site Registration will begin at 8am and will continue until the walk starts at 10am. The walk is roughly the distance of a 5k, going from Haddad to the Capitol building and back. Speakers will begin at 9am. Last minute funds raised for a21 can be turned in at the registration table. Walk for Freedom shirts can be purchased on a21.org until October 6th. If you have not had a chance to purchase a Walk for Freedom shirt please wear a black shirt to the walk. Participants walk single file with yellow bandanas around their mouth. Instructions to make your own bandana with one of the survivor’s name we walk for this year can be found at a21.org.
