THE PAULA MARTIN MEMORIAL SWIMMING LESSONS KICKED OFF THIS WEEK AT THE KANAWHA CITY COMMUNITY CENTER POOL
(Charleston, W.Va.) – The 14th annual Paula Martin Memorial Swimming Lessons are underway at the Kanawha City Community Center Pool, with additional beginner and advanced sessions scheduled throughout June, July and August. The program continues to provide swim instruction for community members of all ages and skill levels.
The program honors the legacy of Paula Martin, a former Parks and Recreation Center manager who dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Charleston Community. Martin was an avid swimmer, certified swimming instructor, and skilled pool operator whose commitment to water safety and youth development touched countless lives.
This year's lessons are led by certified swimming instructors Mary Leslie Morton and Julia Morton, who bring more than 30 years of combined experience teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities. From first-time swimmers to those looking to refine their skills, the Mortons are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that helps participants build confidence in and around the water.
Lessons are available for beginner swimmers, parent-child participants, advanced swimmers, and adults. Participants may register for multiple sessions, with no limit on the number of morning or evening sessions they may attend. Registration is available on-site only; online registration is not offered. The cost is $10 per session, with each session consisting of three classes.
