CITY’S PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO HOST ANNUAL MAGIC ISLAND EASTER EGG HUNT APRIL 19, 2025

(Charleston, W. Va.) – The City of Charleston Parks and Recreation Department—in partnership with Kanawha County Parks and Recreation, WQBE, and Electric 102.7—will host its annual Magic Island Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11 a.m. to noon for sensory friendly activities (all ages) and noon to 3 p.m. for kids ages 10 and under. This free community event will feature 30,000 eggs, sensory-friendly activities, a magician, a visit from the Easter Bunny and more.  

“The Magic Island Easter Egg Hunt is a favorite tradition in our Capital City, bringing together families and friends for a day of fun, laughter and celebration,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy the excitement of the season in a welcoming and festive setting. We hope everyone will join us for this special event and take part in many activities our Parks and Recreation Department has planned.”

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, designated areas will be set up for different age groups. Children are encouraged to bring their own baskets to collect eggs. Families are welcome to enjoy all the activities planned throughout the day.
