Mayor Goodwin administered ceremonial oath to Charleston Youth Council Members
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin administered a ceremonial oath to the 2019-2020 Charleston Youth Council during last night’s Charleston City Council meeting. The 15 students, chosen by a seven-person committee, will provide young people in the Capital City a voice in developing public policy and community development initiatives.
“It was exciting to see the energy in Council Chambers last night as the inaugural Charleston Youth Council took the ceremonial oath beginning their term,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “I would encourage youth from throughout our city to share their ideas with the Council, participate in Youth Council meetings and be part of this new youth-driven effort to make Charleston a more vibrant City.”
The members of the 2019/2020 Charleston Youth Council are as follows:
