MAYOR GOODWIN ANNOUNCES CITY-WIDE CLEAN UP
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the City of Charleston, in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan’s Make It Shine Program, will host the "Capital City Team Up to Clean Up” city-wide clean up every Saturday in April. Local businesses, organizations and members of the community are invited to help clean and beautify neighborhoods throughout Charleston. Projects will include litter collection, landscaping, fence painting, creation of public art and more.
“There’s nothing more fulfilling than working side-by-side with fellow community members to accomplish a common goal. This city-wide clean up is an excellent way to engage with our friends and neighbors to create more vibrant communities throughout Charleston,” said Mayor Goodwin.
The clean up will take place from 8:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
April 6: East End – meet at the Morris Street parking lot behind Appalachian Power Park
April 13: Kanawha City – meet at City National Bank
April 20: North Charleston and West Side – meet at the Farmer’s Market
April 27: South Hills – meet at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church
