The Charleston Engineering Department strives to propose creative design solutions which will enhance the value of the City while also being practical in the facilitation and inspection of public improvement projects. Some measurable goals shall include the implementation of a storm water management program, development of an inventory based paving schedule, renovation and maintenance of current downtown streetscape districts and through cooperation with the Charleston Sanitary Board, separation of portions of combined sewer systems.

To submit a paving request or report a problem related to a recently paved road, please submit a Request for Service by entering the Issue Location (road you want paved or has been paved), selecting Paving Request or Recently Paved Road Problem (under Type of Issue), adding any related comments/photos, and including contact information for notification purposes before submitting using the Create Request button.
