Mayor Goodwin Launches #GiveThanksCWV Campaign to Thank Frontline Workers
Today, Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin launched an online social media campaign to thank those working on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. After receiving communications from folks across the city asking Goodwin to pass along their thanks, the #GiveThanksCWV campaign was created in order to allow people to thank frontline workers while maintaining CDC social distancing standards.
“So many have called, texted and emailed asking me to share gratitude with all of our first responders including firefighters, police, 911 dispatchers, refuse team, healthcare workers, folks who provide you your medicine, those who stock the shelves at the store and help us through the checkout line, our bus drivers, and for those making delicious homemade meals to go,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “I’ve done that, but I want to give folks an opportunity to do that directly.”
Participants are asked to upload short videos to social media using #GiveThanksCWV. The City of Charleston will share videos from their social media platforms as well to recognize our frontline workers during this difficult time.
