Join us for the inaugural Friends of Clay 5K and Fun Run! This event will benefit the Clay Center's education programs. So lace up your running shoes and join us for a morning full of fun activities and fitness!
On October 13, 2018 at 9:00 AM, runners will start and end in the front circle of the Clay Center, enjoying a beautiful course through Charleston's East End.

Event Description:
The Friends of Clay 5K and Fun Run, is a 3.1 mile run for everyone! Gather the family to walk, jog, or run and support arts and science education programming in West Virginia. For the 5K, you can register to be a timed runner or an un-timed walker. Guests of all ages are welcome to register for the 5K, but our STEAM education supporters ages 8 & under can also choose to register for our Fun Run which will take place after the 5K concludes.
All registered participants will receive a day pass to the Clay Center, a t-shirt (guaranteed if registered by Oct. 1), and for runners 21 & over with a valid ID...you also get two beer vouchers to be redeemed at the awards ceremony/after party! Light refreshments will also be available to participants before and after the race
Date & Time:
Friends of Clay 5K, Saturday, October 13, 2018. Start time is 9:00 AM. An award ceremony for Age Group categories will follow the race.
KIDS FUN RUN (ages 8 & under) will begin once the 5K has concluded and will take place in the Clay Center's front circle. (t-shirts guaranteed to kid's registered by 10/1).
Age groups will dash around the front circle:
4 & under - 1 lap
5 & 6 - 2 laps
7 & 8 - 3 laps
Location:
Race start and finish is in downtown Charleston at the Clay Center's front circle (1 Clay Square). Limited parking on-site.
Course:
This flat course starts and ends in downtown Charleston at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences (1 Clay Square) and runs down Kanawha Blvd. E and back through the East End neighborhood of Charleston.
Prices:
Friends of Clay 5K $30 ($35 after 10/1/2018)
KIDS FUN RUN: $10.00 ($15.00 after 10/1/2018)
