GARBAGE BAG VOUCHER DEADLINE EXTENDED

Because of a delivery delay from the manufacturer, the redemption deadline for the City of Charleston’s Spring 2017 Garbage Bag Vouchers has been extended to January 31, 2018, which will coincide with the Fall 2017 redemption period, beginning next month. WasteZero, the company that manufactures the bags, has indicated that new supply will be produced and ready for shipment to Charleston retailers at the end of August. Residents who have not yet redeemed their Spring 2017 slips will be able to do so once those bags become available in September.

“The City thought this was the most fair and accommodating solution for all of our residents who have not been able to pick up their bags before the July 31 deadline on the vouchers they received this spring,” said City Collector Tonya Cotton.

When the new bags are available, residents can pick them up with vouchers at the Drug Emporium and Piggly Wiggly stores in Kanawha City as well as the Drug Emporium on Patrick Street.
